Founder | Construction Manager
Originally from Warsaw, Poland, Michal excelled in maths during school, developing a strong work-ethic and resourcefulness from a young age. After starting as a labourer almost 20 years ago here on the Sunshine Coast, his career in construction led him to Whistler, Richmond, Vancouver, and Saskatoon before returning to Gibsons in 2017 to begin his own company. During his 10+ years off the Coast, he challenged his apprenticeship, successfully obtaining his Red Seal certification in 2016. Working on jobs of all sizes, from single family dwellings to residential towers in large developments, Michal gained experience in all areas of construction. He loves architectural concrete, interior finishing… and any excuse to purchase a new Millwaukee packout.
As the Construction Manager at Habetin Homes, Michal is involved with all projects, while both leading and developing the growing Habetin Homes team.
Michal’s resourcefulness and passion for design shines when faced with an exciting, custom millwork and interior finishing project for clients. When he’s not on a jobsite, you’ll find him cycling, on the golf course, working on his own personal projects, or hanging with the trades - talking about work.

Operations Manager | Co-Owner
After obtaining a diploma in Event Management and working for a decade in her field in and around Vancouver, Taryn moved back to the Sunshine Coast in 2018. Little did she know, her exceptional computer and management skills paired with her ability to juggle multiple suppliers, budget updates, client expectations, floor plans, critical paths, and business operations would prove useful in the construction industry.
Taryn found herself working for a local construction firm specializing in high-end architectural homes for nearly 4 years before taking the leap to co-own Habetin Homes alongside Michal.
In her words, “Everything I have done and learned has led me to this point in my life”. She is now the proud co-owner of Habetin Homes and loves every second of it. Behind the scenes, you’ll find Taryn demystifying zoning bylaws for homeowners and submitting permits, updating project budgets, processing payroll, collaborating with industry professionals, and reminding the team to submit their receipts (over, and over again). When not working on running the business, you’ll find her up a mountain with her two beloved dogs or spending time with family.
